95% Of Our Water Is Reused
The picture above is just after our wheelie bin cleaning trailer has just finished cleaning 2 bins. I have moved the trailer forward enough to see the amount of water that is left on the floor.
Underneath the bin cleaning potion of the trailer we have a 250 litre water tank that feeds the pressure washer. Beacuse of this it is hard to measure how much water is being used during a bin clean. Each bin is different and some bins need more water than others!
It is pracically impossible to stop water from going on to the floor but we always try to minimise it. Not because the water is contaminated, it’s because we are just trying to save water.
Although the amount of water spillage looks alot we estimate it to be less than 5% of the water used to clean a bin. If you have ever spilt a glass of milk it always looks more than it is. So I can guarantee you that we waste minimal water.
After all, we are a cleaning business and one of our core principles is to save water as well as encourage recycling.
The water we use is recycled water that froms from the purple taps. No detergent or cleaning products are used on the outside of the bin but in the rare cases where there are some pretty stubborn stains and waste just a small amount of degreaser is used to loosen the grim.
All of our products meet the council requirements for disposing the waste water into the sewerage system which we do on a regular basis at an authorised location.
